$5.7 MILLION DOLLAR GRANT FOR LOCAL CRISIS AND TRANSITIONAL ACCOMODATION

The Cook Labor Government is helping to deliver crisis and transitional accommodation in Midland, with a $5.7 million grant to support agency Indigo Junction. The project will provide 20 dwellings to assist youth, predominantly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, aged 15 to 25.

 

Indigo Junction has been providing support to people in the Midland area including those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, children, women and families, for over 45 years.

 

The project which is expected to be completed at the end of 2026 will be a three-storey complex comprising of 10 bedrooms for crisis accommodation and 24/7 supervision, as well as 10 one-bed units on the second and third floors designed for transitional accommodation.
